DEC (LOCAL) “Compensation and Benefits: Leaves and Absences”

The employee provides written notice of intent to retire.  Contracted employees must provide written notice at least 90 business days before the last day of employment.  Noncontracted employees must provide written notice at least two weeks before the last day of employment.

If you are planning on retiring in May 2020 (at the end of the school year) below are the deadlines:

  • Contracted employees must submit a letter of intent by January 8, 2020.
  • Noncontracted employees must submit a letter by May 8, 2020.
