FISD is committed to transparency as we communicate during the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to keep our families, staff, and community informed, the chart below shows the number of Staff and Student active and recovered cases also test-confirmed cases beginning June 1, 2020.
FISD reports positive cases to the El Paso County Health Department and follows its self-isolation and quarantine requirements.
-
How does Fabens ISD receive its case counts?
The El Paso County Health Department, FISD staff, and our families notify us of test-confirmed positive test results. We then verify the report, initiate contact tracing, and send notifications.
-
How are the case counts updated?
Our Director of Human Resource updates the case counts as test-confirmed positive test results are reported and verified. The “active” number reflects current cases. When students or staff are cleared to return to school or work, they are moved to the “recovered” column.
-
Does the student count include both remote and face-to-face learners?
Yes all students, whether face to face or remote will be included. As some remote students are coming on campus for extracurricular activities, Fabens ISD will monitor those students as well for COVID-19 symptoms and for positive test results. We encourage parents to report positive COVID-19 test results whether the student is face to face or remote.
